Despite being an EU country, Bulgaria has one of the highest rates of orphaned or abandoned children in Europe.

At 18 children living in state

institutions are told to leave. With no state provision for these young people they leave with no money, no home, no job and no hope.

Official government statistics show that between 2001-2005 only 8 young people leaving state care were able to find paid employment

For many, crime, drugs and

prostitution become their only means of survival

We believe these young

people deserve a brighter

future...

One vital aspect of our work is the regular visits to the Orphanages in the area. Letting the children know that we care and that we put that care into action is a very powerful tool.

A typical trip would involve spending a week in one of the orphanages leading a diverse set of simple activities. Activities have included Art, Craft, Music, Sport, Cooking, English teaching (the kids also love to try to teach us Bulgarian) and much more.
